North Sea Echoes “Throwing Stones” (Official Video)

The fourth single off the album, “Really Good Terrible Things”, titled “Throwing Stones” receives an animated official video created by Patrick Atkins. Visit this link to his website to view storyboards from the video.

Patrick also created the artwork for Fates Warning‘s album “Long Day Good Night” and an animated video for the song “Begin Again”

On Throwing Stones, Ray Alder shares, “This is a strange one. Some people have a fear of happiness. They feel that something painful always follows pleasure. So they’re sort of locked into this world where they try to feel nothing. It’s called Cherophobia.”

Throwing Stones

Strange, how the sunlight feels on my skin
Like a hand that’s warm
And the day finds me with another drink in my hand
Shine on…
Shine on…
Shine on…

Wait, now the clouds form the incoming storm
Guess I should have known
From the way that my thoughts had given way to a song
Hang on…

Higher than any mountain top, lower than the deepest sea
I know sometimes it feels like we’re walking around in circles endlessly

Breathe as the smoke from another cigarette
Swirls around my head
And I lean against the wall and contemplate going to bed
When will the rain stop?

Higher than any mountain top, lower than the deepest sea
I know sometimes it feels like we’re walking around in circles endlessly
Mourning the death of memory, silence is all I speak
I confess that’s a funeral that I won’t attend consciously

The battle of self we face it alone, with nobody’s help we save ourselves
There’s no throwing stones

Now the sunlight begins to creep in I guess I’ll try again

Higher than any mountain top, lower than the deepest sea
I know sometimes it feels like we’re walking around in circles endlessly
Mourning the death of memory, silence is all I speak
I confess that’s a funeral that I won’t attend consciously
